Christopher Stephens, Music Director

Christopher Stephens is a New York–based vocal coach, pianist, and music director with more than two decades of experience working with Broadway performers, actors, singers, and speakers. His teaching is grounded in the bel canto tradition, combining a strong technical foundation with an emphasis on text, storytelling, physical freedom, and emotional connection.

Christopher has worked extensively with Broadway and off-Broadway artists and has taught and coached performers in more than 40 countries. His teaching credits include AMDA, NYU Tisch School of the Arts, Pace University, Wright State University, and numerous international programs.

As a pianist and music director, his Broadway and off-Broadway credits include Wicked, Matilda, Anything Goes, Bells Are Ringing, War Boys, Lucky Stiff, and Shout!. He has also worked with artists including Kelli O’Hara, Jessie Mueller, Mandy Patinkin, Alan Menken, Megan Hilty, and Morgan James, and has performed at Carnegie Hall, Joe’s Pub, The Duplex, and venues throughout the U.S., South America, and Europe.
